Godkulture was founded July 2001 in Nigeria, Africa and was registered to conduct business in the United States of America in OCT 2007. Godkulture started out on a college campus as a group of 25 creative students who decided to begin hosting concerts as a means of preaching Christ to their colleagues through creative expression.
The first concert was a poetry night themed “the dirge of time” and was a huge trend setter. Within one year, membership had grown to over 100 members who were put into various departments based on their talents and skills. A team leader or Head of department was selected to head each department and this began a great wave of creative expression across the college.
In 2003, the founder of Godkulture, Rotimi Kehinde graduated and handed over to a new generation of leaders. In 2005, he moved to Lagos, a major city in Nigeria, where he gathered some of his colleagues and contemporaries together to begin Godkulture Lagos. There, they staged concerts and had regularly meetings.
In 2007, Rotimi left the office of leadership in Nigeria in the hands of James Awam and moved to the United States of America where he continued the great work. Today, Godkulture effectively numbers thousands of members and volunteers who are practically using their gifts and talents to make meaning in the world.
With strategic and executive operations conducted in Naperville, USA, Godkulture has also opened up new branches in the United Kingdom and in Canada and is fast becoming a global network of creativity.
